No one changed the sound of guitar music more than Leo Fender. No two Strats sound alike. They have an incredible variety of sounds available on the same instrument. It's brilliant. There is no other instrument like it. Various electronic components, and the configuration of the amplifier and speaker, can be used to alter the sound of the instrument. The Fender Stratocaster was Jimi Hendrix's guitar of choice for ninety percent of his work, both in the studio and in concert. The construction of the guitar is very good, esp. for a Mexican Strat. I would've thought that I'd prefer an American, however I really have fallen in love with this guitar. It's constructed like any other strat. The first mass produced electric bass was developed by Leo Fender, a well-known guitar manufacturer, as experiments with upright basses with pickups did not work very well at the time. Always in demand, the Strat has to be one of the most popular collectors' items. When I started, even though it was still a relatively expensive guitar, it was still within the price range of most collectors and/or players who were looking for something to keep into their old age.
