Will
Leanne's past ruin her future? Battlelines are drawn at the
Baldwins. A furious Frankie (Debra Stephenson) discovers Leanne
(Jane Danson) spent the night with Jamie (Rupert Hill). Her
dislike for the young Battersby is apparent for all when she
unceremoniously throws her out of the house. Jamie is appalled
at his step-mums behaviour and insists Frankie apologise.
More ammunition is thrown Frankie's way when she later chats
to Maria (Samia Ghadie) about the situation with Leanne. Having
her own axe to grind, Maria wastes no time in dishing the
dirt, revealing to Frankie the sordid details of Leanne's
drug-taking, criminal past. More determined than ever to put
an end to Jamie's fledgling relationship, Frankie revels in
telling Jamie about his girlfriend's wayward track record.
He is shocked at Frankie's news and later tackles Leanne about
the rumours. Is this the end for the young lovers? Not a woman
to be crossed, how will Leanne react to snooty Frankie's meddling?
Steve
(Simon Gregson) sets about a charm offensive with Karen (Suranne
Jones). He tells he she is in for a day of pleasure, promising
to cook her a meal she won't forget. An indignant Karen heads
off to the Rovers alone leaving Steve to prepare his culinary
delight. Once in the pub Karen is dismayed when everyone ignores
her as they prepare for their bowls semi-final showdown. Feeling
lonely and left out, a despondent Karen returns home; Steve
knows he's got his work cut out putting the smile back on
his wife's face. Will his attempts at being Weatherfield's
answer to Jamie Oliver do the trick or will Karen's reaction
be as frosty as the prawns Steve has prepared?
Meanwhile,
the Rovers Ravers return in triumphant mood having won their
semi-final match. They are through to the final and nothing's
going to stop them now. Jack (Bill Tarmey) revels in the teams
victory, and his delight is heightened when he reminds Ciaran
(Keith Duffy) about a certain little wager they had on the
outcome of today's game. Not wanting to pay up, Ciaran plays
on Jack's weakness and offers him a deal, double or quits
on the result of the final. With £200 up for grabs,
a confident Jack takes the barmans wager. This should
make the final more interesting.
